Owner description: Chene Bleu's couture wines have been referred to in the press as the world's first "Super Rhônes". Award-winning and critically-acclaimed, the Rolet family produce their wines, made to the highest organic and biodynamic principles, at their boutique wine estate, La Verrière, tucked away up in the stunning Dentelles de Montmirail hills, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the heart of Provence. The tasting room is open year-round for cellar tours and wine tastings. To complement a visit, Chene Bleu offers gastronomic lunch options: "Farm to Fork" and "ChenoBox" or the option to enjoy a Provencale picnic basket among the vines, all expertly paired with their wines, using organic fruits and vegetables, honey and olive oil grown or produced on the estate.

Beautifully located upon a hill, this winery has a special charm, with advanced techniques, and a B&B with lovely accomodations. Our tour guide , Bryan, was the best! He was a natural teacher with a Masters degree in the field. He taught us a lot. He was knowledgeable, kind and professional.Needless to say, the wine was amazing. We ended up buying lots of it! I highly recommend the visit!

A very picturesque trip to get to this remote winery but well worth the effort. We were given a private tour around the winery while the chef prepared our picnic which was lovely. Very interesting family running this who have done much to restore the local ecology as well as produced some fantastic wines. Lots of thought and care has gone into the wines (which were great) and the branding. The suitcases were quite a bit heavier going home...

Chêne Bleu (the brand of wine produced at Domaine de La Verrière) is a high end wine not in the traditional cote de rhone style.

We were lucky enough to have a tour of this beautiful property with the lovely and knowledgeable Brian. While walking through the grounds we learnt about the history of the property which has had varying functions over the last millennium. Brian then was able to explain and show how Chêne Bleu is using the best of the old and new world to produce the finest possible wine. The tour of course ended with a tasting which was just as spectacular as the property.

If you have the opportunity to visit Chêne Bleu for a tasting, a tour or even just for some photos then I strongly suggest you take it.

Thank Tim B

A bit of a hike from the main CDP and southern Rhone AOCs, but definitely worth the trip up to Crestet. The location is stunning. Shown around by the friendly and helpful Brian just as harvest starting - starts around 3 weeks later here due to altitude. Nice eclectic approach to grape choice and winemaking. A positively different and fun tasting visit.
