I stayed here over the New Year with my husband, our three children, my parents and in-laws and our Labrador. We were very impressed when we arrived to find a large house with plenty of room for everyone. It was spotlessly clean and had all the facilities that we could possibly need. There was even a beautiful homemade cake waiting for us, along with some milk in the fridge, which was gratefully received.
The location was good - only a 10 minute drive from gorgeous beaches, perfect for dog walks. We did manage to find somewhere to walk the dog without driving too, and without walking along the busy main road!
Other than our dog walks we didn't go far and cooked all our meals in the house thanks to all equipment and utensils being provided. We even managed a full roast dinner. We were hoping to visit the pub that is right in front of the house (there was no noise whatsoever from it) but unfortunately they don't allow dogs inside which I thought was a shame.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a large space. It is family and dog friendly and large enough for us to all have our own space.
5 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs stayed over Christmas and had a really enjoyable stay. The house is well positioned for quick trips to the lovely beaches, barafundle, freshwater west and lily ponds. The house itself felt large enough for it not to feel like we were living on top of each other, 3 bathrooms, a utility area and a decent dining area. The house was quite cold on arrival and took a while to heat, but that was probably because nobody had been in before us, once warmed it was fine (when we contacted the owner they came straight away). The house has most things you'd expect, although we did struggle a little on Christmas day with some things we needed, which is to be expected I guess. There are just a couple of details which stop me giving a 5 - towels and bedding were provided, which was great, but no bath mats or tea towels, or a mat on entering the house, parking is a little tight when there are multiple cars. Small thing but overall it was a good choice and we would definitely go back, for larger groups there is a house next door owned by the same people of a similar size.
A delicious cake left for us on the table made us feel immediately welcome! We all found the house very comfortable, spacious, light, and well equipped. It was wonderful to have sufficient showers to accommodate us all, and the extra toilet downstairs was a boon. The kitchen was great for family meals and a birthday party for the youngest member of our group. Lounge furniture was excellent for lounging!! And outside the bar-b-q was put to good use. As we also had two dogs we were grateful to have the enclosed garden. Good for young children too!
Our group had a wide range of ages and from this location it was very easy to find things to do for all of us..from Folly Farm for the youngest; the Lily ponds and beautiful beaches for everyone; and Pembroke Castle for a grey day. We also visited the pretty town of Narbeth where there are many interesting gift shops.
The location is very quiet and yet within easy reach of so many great places that it couldn't have been better for us.We had a really great time and it proved to be an excellent choice!
We were a group of young women who came away to Pembrookshire from Cambridge and London. We couldn't have asked for a better house, it felt like a home away from home. The house is clean and comfortable, stylish and really well equipped. We really loved the lounge, we watched films and played games in here. The big kitchen table was great for bringing us all together at meal times.
Tim, one of the owners dropped by and he gave us his recommendations, we were glad we asked as his recommendations were great.
The house is really well situated as close to a lot of lovely Pembrookshire sites- Stackpole Quay where we went paddle boarding; Barafundle Bay where we managed to do some sunbathing; Fresh Water West is a 10minute drive away if you wanted to go to surf school but we started a wonderful walk here up to Angle Bay; the house is only a 40 minute drive to Marlow Sands where we did another lovely walk; lastly Tenby is just a 20 minute drive away where we went for an afternoon and had lovely ice cream.
The Stackpole Inn is nearby, we had a really lovely meal here.
Overall we had a wonderful week at the house and in Pembrokeshire, thanks for having us Llwy Garu!
This was a perfect holiday home for a group or family. It is spacious with 2 onsuits and a main bathroom to accommodate all. The kitchen dinning area was great area for a family meal/get together. Also the beds and bedding were very comfortable which makes a difference.
Great location for exploring South Pembrokeshire. A visit to the Lilly Ponds in Bosherton in June is a must! If you enjoy flying kites there's no better place than above the very beautiful Barafundle beach.
