After a very long drive and over 5 weeks touring Costa Rica we were tired when we arrived at this place. Swin greeted us with a smile and showed us the cottage which was rather larger than we had expected. Within a very short time we were completely relaxed on the veranda surrounded by shrubs and birds and the sounds of young children playing (Swin has 2 adorable young boys).
The cottage itself is rustic with bare concrete floors and simple furniture. It is well but simply decorated and the owner had provided fresh flower bouquets. The bedrooms have comfortable queen sized beds. We chose the one with bedside lamps as we like to read in bed sometimes. We might suggest that the owner add night tables in both rooms and reading lights in the second bedroom. While there are no real closets in the bedrooms, there are shelves to put your suitcases on and limited hanger space.
The kitchen was my great delight. There are plenty of dishes, flatware, cooking utensils and surprise, surprise, even a salad spinner! Everything I could want in my own kitchen was there.
Another delight were the speakers that I could plug my iPad into. In the evening we would sit and enjoy some of our favourite music over a glass of wine.
There is a lovely 4k walk right beside the cottage that we used. And of course there are all the hikes at or near the park.
We had a short time to explore the area and in the end felt that a week would have been a more suitable time. Definitely one of our favourite stays in Costa Rica.
