I was island hopping in the Grenadines and had pre-booked all my accommodation.
My studio at the Village Apartments was lovely - spacious, bright and airy and clean, with all you needed to make breakfast and the odd meal.
However, as I'm waiting to have a knee replacement and also have a severe spinal problem, I found the steps (lots of them) very steep. When my son arrived from New Zealand to join me for a couple of weeks, I decided I had to find something bigger and we moved to a 2 bedroom apartment on Lower Bay.
George and Val (the owners) were fine about this - they are a lovely couple and I felt embarrassed about leaving.
The views are fantastic from the apartments - beautiful sunsets - and the apartments are very conveniently situated for the restaurants along Belmont Walkway as well as the small Belmont beach. From the walkway, you can take a water taxi to Princess Margaret Beach or Lower Bay (or you can walk there if you are fit). Also it's easy to walk into town for shopping along the walkway and if you don't want to walk back, you can catch the dollar van, which will drop you outside the apartments on the main road, so all in all, very convenient.
