A really nice hotel to stay in to discover the Gower Peninsula. A quiet location down a small lane next to the church (not bell ringing during our visit! ) All the staff were very friendly and keen to answer any questions about the area. Rooms nicely fitted out and decorated with a cosy bar and restaurant serving great food.
Hi we stayed at the Gower hotel in bishopston South Wales we had a lovely stay the room was lovely and a great bathroom too, there was lots of room. The staff were lovely and very accommodating to. We will be going back to stay again soon, we had a lovely relaxing stay thank you all, Matt
Just back from an amazing weekend at The Gower Hotel, it was awesome and totally exceeded my expectations, the staff were the best I have ever known and I totally loved it! Will definitely be returning each time I visit Swansea, could not recommend more highly
we were a party of 6 attending 2 weeks before Christmas. We had to pre order our meal and were surprised to find only 2 other people in the restaurant. The food was average, the service was friendly but not really service, we had to request water for the table several times, no bread, the pre order was incorrect, one of our party received a dish they wouldn't have ordered as it was a dish they knew they didn't like! The place lacked atmosphere and we left as soon as our food was finished as the place was lowering our mood. I will say that it had only recently reopened but unless they are able to improve the service, the food and general ambience we wont be revisiting
We were very lucky to have won a Facebook competition to stay here for one night. We stayed in the room with a bath and all i can say it is was beautiful! So spacious and luxurious. It was extremely clean and well kept, the decor was modern and tasteful. The bed was huge and very comfy and the en-suite and shower etc were huge and stunning.
We were treated to complementary champagne on arrival (part of competition but not expected) we went down the the restaurant and sarah behind the bar was just as friendly and welcoming as gemma on reception was when we arrived. The bar was again stunningly decorated and nice and cosy. The prices were reasonable on the drinks and of high quality. We also were lucky enough to have a 2 course meal included from the monroes restaurant located on site. The restaurant itself was clean and welcoming but very dark (black painted celings etc) but nice and cosy. The food was something i would give my right arm to eat again!! I have never tasted such nice and flavoursome food in my life!!!! My partner had monkfish and i had on the farm (lamb, beef,pork belly,chicken crunchy veg and gravy and sauces) and for afters my partner had the gower bomb (chocolate cake with raspberry centre) and i had chocolate tart with honeycomb caramel sauce and vanilla icecream! Like i said i could not fault it at all and i was stuffed!! After the meal we returned to the bar and met the owner linda and the chef mark. Both were very nice people who couldn't do enough for us and the other men that were haveing a drink in the bar. It was a monday night in February so very quiet but that made no difference all the staff were amazingly welcoming.
The following morning we had breakfast which was full cooked breakfast and again beautifully cooked (there was cereal available but we did not want that) the function room that served as the dining room again was beautiful and i can see how it would be lovely for an intimate wedding reception.
I would recommend this venue to anyone and i know we didn't pay for the services this time but looking at the prices I definitely would pay the asking price and am looking to book again soon xx
Me and the mrs had fantastic stay here. Staff were very friendly and welcoming from the start and the hotel itself was beautiful. We had the room with a bath which was amazing. Clean tidy and very spacious. You definitely get what you pay for. The breakfast in the morning was beautiful as well. Would definitely come back.
