This was by far the best part of our entire week in Ireland!!! The walk was a bit strenuous at times, and Pat kept up a fast pace, but we stopped often at the best views for pictures and for Pat to tell some stories and give information about the path, the local farmers, etc., so we always had plenty of time to catch our breath! It lasted about 4 hours total, and we walked about 5 miles. There were no bathrooms along the way, but towards the end, we stopped at the visitor center and had the chance to use the restroom and buy sandwiches and water. The entire walk was amazing because we were so close to the edge of the cliffs, and no one else was around! The views were absolutely unreal, and luckily we had amazing weather, so the experience was just magical! And Pat made it so much better because he was sooo passionate about the path, the land, everything. It was amazing to hear about what it was like to grow up there, and about the experiences of the community of farmers who live there. You could do the hike alone, but it was SO MUCH better with Pat as a guide. Plus, it gives you a way to get back to Doolin when you’re done (5 euros for the bus), and it really doesn’t cost much!!
