Have just come home from a lovely family holiday! Leading up to the holiday Jude was happy to answer any questions I had regarding our stay!
On arrival there was complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, cava which was such a lovely touch after travelling for so long!
The kitchen is very very well equipped and everything you could possibly think of has been thought of!
The beds were so so comfy and each room had plenty of storage space.
The downstairs was spacious enough to accommodate everyone without feeling like you're on top of each other! We visited lots of different places which were no more than an hour away which meant we had some lovely days out.
Would definitely recommend to anyone and we hope to return in the future!
Wow, what a fabulous spacious cottage with a home from home feel, everything you could think of needing comes in this cottage, every tiny detail has really been thought of. We stayed here as a family of 10 with 2 dogs from 29th July - 5th August as a gift to my grandparents to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. On arrival the tea, coffee, milk biscuit, cava and flowers were a lovely touch after a long day traveling. Spacious and clean inside, enough space to all be able to be together in one room but enough room to be able to have a bit of your own space too when you needed it. Beds were lovely and comfortable. The grounds were breathtaking and the play house and swings went down a treat with my 3 year old daughter. So peaceful to sit outside and hear nothing but the nature around. Lots to do just a cars journey away and there is plenty of information inside the cottage to give you so many ideas for the week. Simon was lovely and friendly and took the Time to chat and show us the baby barn owls that were only a few weeks us whilst they were feeding which was absolutely amazing. Thank you for letting us stay and being able to spend some quality time all together in one place! Highly recommend a stay in oak cottage.
We were visiting from the US and found Oak Cottage to be a lovely, characterful and comfortable property that easily holds 12. Beautiful both inside and out with great space for spreading out and everything you could want for a great stay. Great location from which to see lovely South Devon. We loved the river cruise in Dartmouth and the cliff walk around Start Point Lighthouse is exquisite. The home is meticulously maintained and the grounds have something for everyone. Can't wait to return!
Oak Cottage is a fabulous cottage set in a courtyard in the grounds of a country house. The owners have thought of absolutely everything that a group of up to 12 could wish for. Comfortable, well equipped with absolutely everything to a very high standard. The surrounding gardens are beautiful and the area very quiet. The nearest beach, Slapton Sands in a great stretch of shingle beach with a nature reserve behind. With a very acceptable welcome pack on arrival and the most attentive and interesting caretaker you could wish for, we had really great week here.
Oak Cottage at Buckland Court is a great place for a large group of people wishing to explore the beautiful South Hams area of Devon.
We were a group made up of three totally outnumbered mums and eight children, who ranged in age from 6 to 14 years.
There was plenty to keep them all occupied at the cottage, from exploring the very large garden to playing pool or racing cars on the PlayStation.
The cottage is extremely well equipped and very comfortable.
The coast is just a few minutes drive away along beautiful country roads. There are stunning beaches to visit, which can be reached if walking along the costal path. However, the cottage is also very close to Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Totnes and Salcombe, where you will find some lovely shops and restaurants. From these towns you may take many different boat trips either along the coast or up the estuaries. We hired two small motor boats in Dittisham and explored the River Dart.
The holiday was great fun and we all had a wonderful time. Hopefully, we will be able to arrange a friends reunion at Oak Cottage again sometime in the future. There is still so much of South Devon to explore!
