“Wonderful relaxing stay”
Reviewed 3 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

I stayed at this doge for a week in July this year and had a wonderful time. The house itself was comfortable and had everything we needed - good beds, plenty of space, outdoor space. the lodge is in a lovely peaceful spot and a great place to switch off.

The weather was mixed but there was still plenty to do - Bantry (shopping, cafes, cinema, and swimming pools), Glengarriff has some lovely restaurants (Caseys hotel and Jims coffee house) and a playground and woods, Kenmare and Schull.

Highly recommend for families and couples.

“Comfortable house in private and quiet setting”
Reviewed 1 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Overall we were happy enough with our stay. We would have liked the option of using the central heating as it was cold in the mornings and we had to light a fire every night. The kitchen cupboards were too cluttered to leave much room for food storage - a problem for us as we weren't eating out much and needed to cook. We also felt the price was too high for linens and towels, especially when the towels were cheap and we had to re-wash them to remove the musty smell. More attention is needed to the cleaning between lettings - the dust set off our allergies immediately and we removed about a dozen spiders and lots of cobwebs upon arrival. The setting of the house is great but these little details let it down somewhat.

Re central heating, this is available on demand, in this instance no such request was received from this guest! The towels, which are of good quality, are laundered on a weekly basis and this cost is charged to the guest with no profit to the owner.

Well equipped, comfortable cottage in a fantastic setting. Travelling with a baby, everything we needed was provided. The cottage was peaceful, very private, well appointed. Glengarriff is a great base for a holiday, there is so much to see & do.

A clean, well equipped and comfortable cottage in a really lovely, peaceful location (yet only 5 minutes drive from lively Glengarriff).

A good base for visiting the South West.

Thank you for the excellent comments you left in our visitors book. It was lovely to hear that you found everything to your satisfaction. Yes it was unfortunate that you had some problems with the WiFi which were outside our control,These were caused by the hurricane Ophelia which happened while you were staying. As you know this caused major disruptions all over the South of Ireland that week. The system was a pay as you go but this will shortly be replaced by a Free WiFi system. I hope I will be able to welcome you back again to Lugdine Lodge. Sean
