We absolutely loved our stay at the Carbine Bridge House! We have family in both Kilkenny and Tipperary, so the location was perfect for us. The house was gorgeous, perfectly maintained and appointed, with everything our busy family of 5 could need. Warm, welcoming, and wonderful-- truly a home away from home!
In addition, Thomas and Brigid Ryan, the owners of the house, were simply amazing hosts- kind, lovely, and attentive to all our needs. We truly enjoyed our time at your home and hope to come back soon!
Pro Tip: Look for the "Up Tipp" perfectly laid out in daffodils!!
Brigid and Tommy, the owners met us there to give us keys & show us around the house.
They left us some essentials in the fridge, a delicious homemade cake and a bunch of flowers on the table which was much appreciated.
The kitchen is fully fitted, everything you might need and immaculately clean. It did have an unusual layout with sink, oven, fridge dishwasher in a smaller room off it.
There is plenty of parking.
Bright bedrooms - those travelling with kids might need to arrange blacking out windows.
The Heating worked well.
We had a lovely stay and would recommend it to others.
Beautiful house, hosts are the best. Our introduction to Ireland and it couldn't have been better. Private but close to a lovely town with a lovely cafe. Great for young children and adults. Comfortable roomy house.
This was something like our 10th stay at CBH. It's centrally located for day trip with so much to see in Kilkenny and Tipperary. The pubs in Callan are the best! The hosts are so warm and always welcoming. Will be back in October!

Just back from a lovely week in Carbine Bridge House a couple of weeks ago - great bedroom accomodation for 2 adults (en suite for us) and 4 kids with room for another guest in one of the twin rooms and a double bedroom with just one occupant so plenty of room. Living accomodation all great too though not used much as the kids spent most of their time outside in the garden or down at Carbine Bridge itself playing inter county poo sticks or wtaching the cows (and one morning the fox). Days out at Dublin Zoo & Fota Wildlife Park in Cork all within 1 1/2 hours drive as well as Jenkinstown Park, Kilkenny Castle, Nore Valley Farm Park, National Reptile Zoo, Dunmore Cave, Castlecomer Discovery Park and Kilkenny all within 30-40 minutes drive made for an ideal family holiday helped by the fact that it didn't rain all week (one night during the night was all we had)...
