“Must be the best place to stay in Cobh”
Reviewed 5 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We stayed at the Waterfront Apartment in February, Ken the owner was friendly and helpful with good communications from booking to leaving. Weather was changeable but mostly dry. The apartment is accurately described, fantastic views, didn't cook but everything you would need in the kitchen. TV, good Wi-Fi, Iphone docking station, hairdryer if required and comfy bed(s) nice bathrooms, off street parking and lift up to the apartment. Its a 5-10 min walk to town centre and the magnificent cathedral, lots of friendly pubs and good restaurants, various shops and a good convenience store. Train station in Cobh next to the Heritage centre which is worth a visit, 30 mins to Cork which is good for shopping and dining. Spent half a day at Midleton including a visit to the Jameson distillery.

“Modern appartment in good central location, great views over Cobh harbour”
Reviewed 24 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Stayed here on a weekend break with friends. Helpful and friendly owner showed us around and even provided bread, butter, fruit juice etc in the fridge for us! Appartment is modern and well fitted out (wi-fi, multi-channel TV etc), in a good location a short walk to the town centre. The icing on the cake was the fantastic view out across historic Cobh harbour from the large front balcony. Plenty of free parking on the basement level underneath the property.

“Looked sensational online - and that's exactly what our experience was.”
Reviewed 11 December 2014 for a stay in October 2014

The Waterfront Penthouse is superbly positioned - right at the heart and soul of of the world's second largest natural harbour which has played a pivotal role in so many important moments of history.

Cobh's history is movie making stuff. Take your pick:- Drake's sheltering against the storm before sailing out to destroy the Spanish Armada; or the resting place for victims of the torpedoed Lusitania which provoked America's entry to to World War One; or how Cobh witnessed the hopes and heartache of more than 3 million Irish emigrants chasing a dream; to the hundreds who boarded the Titanic's last landfall.

Kevin and Mairead who own the Waterfront Penthouse offer a modern, stylish and smart home from home for the traveller. The generously large accommodation sleeps six with breathtaking "almost walking on water" views from all rooms. Warm and welcoming and great value was the vote of our group.

“Beautiful rental with oustanding views”
Reviewed 8 December 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We had a wonderful stay in Cobh. We had planned to venture into Cork, but found enough to do in Cobh that we never made it there. Ken was excellent to deal with. I booked the place in less than a week's notice, and he was very responsive and flexible. We arrived late in the night, and a huge storm came in, so I was a bit concerned that it was going to be windy and stormy the whole time there. But the next morning, the sun rose and the views were outstanding. We enjoyed our breakfasts by the window, and just watching the boats go by. The place had three nice bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Everything was luxurious and clean. The bedrooms were a bit chilly for my liking, but the main area was nice and warm, especially when the sun was up. Ken kindly provided tea, coffee and milk upon arrival. We took advantage of the laundry, and he provided detergent as well. He was quick to respond to any questions we had on the place. We parked under the building, and had no problems finding spaces. The rental is a very short walk into the main area, with groceries, shops and restaurants within easy reach. We spent a day visiting Fota wildlife park, and the other day walking through the town of Cobh. A titanic musuem is within walking distance, and was very interesting to visit-would recommend. This was one of my favorite places to stay in Ireland. Such a great value. We felt like we were home while here, and just enjoyed being able to walk to places and not rely on the car each time. Kitchen was fantastic, with lots of appliances, dishes and utenstils. Would only request some bowls be added for cereal or soup. Would recommend Trade Winds and Harbour Browns restaurants while there.
Thank you Ken for sharing your lovely rental.
