“Fantastic place to stay”
Reviewed 13 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

This cottage is ideal to stay at while visiting the area of Castletownbere and the Beara district. You definitely need a car to get around, but the cottage is not far from most towns, and it is easy to get out and about. The cottage is very well appointed, with everything you need. Lorraine and Mick are wonderful hosts and make sure you have what you need to start with. They are very welcoming, and gave us lots of information, including very clear directions to the cottage. We have really enjoyed our stay and would come again.

“Modern, clean, cozy, welcoming cottage with view of the sea”
Reviewed 4 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

At the foothills of famous Hungry Hill and looking south to the sea, this cottage was a revelation to us. Even better in reality than photos, Mick and Larraine made us feel very welcome. Everything is thought about. The cottage is fully equipped with every appliance, exceptionally clean and well maintained- this is a labour of love for Mick and Larraine who live just a stones throw away but are very careful not to intrude. Lots to see and do in the area- even with kids- our hosts provided loads of valuable local info. We will be going back again for a longer stay.

“Heaven in a nutshell”
Reviewed 16 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

I stayed in this little gem of a cottage earlier this month and will definitely be back. Laraine and Mick's attention to detail is amazing and their welcome so warm. It was just what the doctor ordered and Laraine's brown bread is a delight.

“Absolutely beautiful cottage with perfect location”
Reviewed 28 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We stayed here for 2 nights, and from the moment we stepped in, we regretted not staying here for a week - what a lovely place!
So cosy, spotless, modern and beautiful, and with a beautiful view to the sea and Bere Islands.
If we ever come back to Castletownbere (which we hope) we would definitely come back here!
Thanks to Laraine and Mick - you were lovely hosts.

“Beautiful cottage with great views!”

Mick and Laraine made us feel very welcome. The cottage looks just like everything we saw on the Internet. It is very cosy and really beautifully renovated. The views are amazing. Castletownbere is nearby and there is a good supermarket. You can do a lot of things on Beara, but make sure you go to Dursey Island. You really can't miss that. We were here for two weeks and enjoyed exploring Beara. And don't forget to go to Adrigole's Art and Giftshop for a cup of tea and a slice of Chocolate and Guinness Cake. It was our first time in Ireland and the people are very friendly. We hope to come back some day and we wouldn't hesitate to go to Four Directions Cottage again.
