Well located in the town centre, so we could walk everywhere. It was a godsend to have a private car park available as parking in town is extremely tight! Warm room, very large and a good sized bathroom with bath tub and a very decent shower. We were warmly and professionally welcomed. The place is very big but there is a lift for those who need it. We saw no sign of the complimentary sherry mentioned in other reviews! And actually I didn't think the breakfast was great, fairly average B&B offering. There was a 'catch of the day' advertised on the breakfast menu, but on both mornings they had to check - and it wasn't available. My hubby had the fry up which was fine. For me, there was some fruit salad and tinned fruit in bowls, but only 3 small apples otherwise, so not much in the way of a healthy option. But this is a personal and very minor quibble - we had a very comfortable stay and would definitely come here again.

Stayed here a number of times and love the relaxing vibe!
2 minutes walk away from the pubs and restaurants. But far enough to not have any noise.
WiFi was fine to use at all times of the day.
Breakfast was tasty as usual with plenty of choice. Cereals, yoghurts, fry ups etc was all on offer.
We were very impressed with the shower as it was very powerful.
Look forward to our return trip.
A must do is go to the Old Head of Kinsale for the view. It’s amazing.

Managed to arrive between rainshowers and was welcomed warmly. The room was very comfortable, warm and cozy. Location is very good for walking through Kinsale.
Breakfast was cooked to order and very good. I did find that I am not that fond of Kippers though!

Drove into Kinsale 10 October 2017, just after Hurricane Ophelia hit. Power had just been restored in town, but yet Friar's Lodge was warm and welcoming. Location is convenient to most all and breakfast was very nicely done. While not inexpensive, it is a good value for Kinsale.

We were on a Rick Steeves "Best of Ireland " tour in September 2017. This was our stopping place in Kinsale. The location was great and only a few minutes walk to the center of town.

There was a very nice sitting area in 2 rooms for chatting and reading. The rooms were cozy and nice and had a tv, wi fi, phone.

The breakfast was very nice and complete. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: The hotel is on a quiet street so all the rooms will be good.
