Stayed here a number of times and love the relaxing vibe!
2 minutes walk away from the pubs and restaurants. But far enough to not have any noise.
WiFi was fine to use at all times of the day.
Breakfast was tasty as usual with plenty of choice. Cereals, yoghurts, fry ups etc was all on offer.
We were very impressed with the shower as it was very powerful.
Look forward to our return trip.
A must do is go to the Old Head of Kinsale for the view. It’s amazing.

Managed to arrive between rainshowers and was welcomed warmly. The room was very comfortable, warm and cozy. Location is very good for walking through Kinsale.
Breakfast was cooked to order and very good. I did find that I am not that fond of Kippers though!

Drove into Kinsale 10 October 2017, just after Hurricane Ophelia hit. Power had just been restored in town, but yet Friar's Lodge was warm and welcoming. Location is convenient to most all and breakfast was very nicely done. While not inexpensive, it is a good value for Kinsale.

We were on a Rick Steeves "Best of Ireland " tour in September 2017. This was our stopping place in Kinsale. The location was great and only a few minutes walk to the center of town.

There was a very nice sitting area in 2 rooms for chatting and reading. The rooms were cozy and nice and had a tv, wi fi, phone.

The breakfast was very nice and complete. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Room tip: The hotel is on a quiet street so all the rooms will be good.

We drove from Shannon Airport to Friar's Lodge in Kinsale after flying over from the US in the early morning hours. For whatever reason, my GPS took me through Cork city before we arrived in lovely Kinsale on a beautiful, sunny morning. I have previously stayed at Friar's on 2 other visits and love the location and private car park behind the hotel. We stayed for 2 nights and walked to all the pubs, restaurants and attractions. When we arrived around 10 am, Maureen Tierney, the owner, offered us a choice of rooms. We decided to stay in room 109 that overlooked the front of the hotel. She is an amazing owner and we enjoyed our 2 nights in a very clean, spacious room. Believe it or not, I stayed in the same room in 2008 during one of my previous visits. The breakfast offered full Irish breakfast, cereal, fruits, pancakes and assorted pastries. On Saturday morning, fresh fish was also offered. I can't say enough about Maureen's hospitality.

Room tip: Room 109 - spacious and very clean
