“Quintessentially Irish yet has all the modern amenities you could need!”
Reviewed 27 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

A beautiful thatched cottage set in rolling hills with cows, sheep and even wild deer as your neighbours. Too good to be true, not at this location. The description which accompanies the advertisement is spot on, the cottage is cosy, yet spacious enough and wonderfully decorated throughout. Only 10 minutes from Ballyshannon or Rossnowlagh beach, everything you could need is within easy reach. Only one word or warning, if travelling with pets, make sure they have been inoculated against ticks which are plentiful. All in all, Violet Collage is a wonderful place to spend a very relaxing week.

“Idyllic Traditional Irish Cottage with a touch of luxury”
Reviewed 24 June 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Spent Easter here with my in-laws, wife and dog. I have only visited Ireland twice with my Irish wife (I am English) but this place was , for me, the quintessential Irish experience. The Master Bedroom and Ensuite Bath were the right mix of traditional and modern- lying in the free-standing tub with the fire lit was an experience I shall not forget in a hurry.

The kitchen is simple but with everything one could need, the setting is gorgeous and very convenient to great beaches and restaurants both in Rossnowlagh and Donegal town. There is central heating but we preferred to make use of the open fires. This is not the place for those who want a sanitised anoymous hotel experience- but for anyone who wants to really feel they have gone back in time, without having to sacrifice a luxurious bath and shower at the end of the day, the ideal destination.

Very romantic- my wife and I will be back - this time, without the in-laws!!! Just joking...
