“Perfect in every way”
Reviewed 18 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

A very warm welcome from the owner for our family group of 10 - grandparents, parents and 4 young children. The children enjoyed using the well equipped playroom and were invited to help feed the calves. The spacious barn is beautifully and comfortably furnished with everything you could hope for. It is situated in a quiet village with a cosy pub and excellent playground within walking distance of Tideswell where we had a delicious lunch at The Merchant's Yard. Also the Chestnut Otter and Owl Sanctuary made a delightful outing.
A perfect weekend break.

“An excellent residence in a lovely village, and superb walking”
Reviewed 13 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The bed-rooms were really comfortable, as was the lounge and dining/kitchen areas. The owners who are on the farm on site most pleasant. Delightful places for walkers; try Millers Dale and Cressbrook dale. The village has a good look about it with all the houses in a similar grey stone. The lounge and dining/kitchen areas are on the first floor with bedrooms below, so you can enjoy the views. Our only slight negative was that the one bedroom on the first floor was not ensuite and did not have a shower nearby, (just a bath), as that is the room that we used for our least mobile person.

“Superb Accommodation”
Reviewed 6 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Stayed her for 3 nights with 12 girlfriends to celebrate my 60th birthday. Fantastic barn, clean, well equipped and decorated to a very high standard. Location was perfect for walking and very close to a village pub. Highly recommended.

“Great venue for friends and family all year round”
Reviewed 1 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

I have stayed here twice now over a span of 5 years, once in winter and now in summer and have come away both times very pleased. It is a lovely and practical property for groups who like a rural setting but like all the comforts of home. The setting in a working farm within the village and and surrounding dales; all idyllic.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed 30 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed as a group of 11 for my friend's hen party in June. I was impressed to find such lovely accommodation at such a reasonable price, and every hen commented on arrival how perfect the barn was, and we were already planning a reason for a return visit!
The layout of the barn suited us very well, allowing us to all sit comfortably at both the dining table and in the lounge (the huge bean bag was a particular favourite!). It was especially nice that we were even able to all be in the kitchen/dining area together while some people were cooking, without getting in each other's way. We particularly appreciated the attention to detail of providing several sets of cutlery and crockery (all good quality) so that we weren't constantly washing up, and the dishwasher was a godsend! The beds were extremely comfortable, and having a bathroom for each bedroom was really useful when trying to get 11 girls ready for a night out!
Bridget was extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating, and we were delighted to find two bottles of Prosecco for us to enjoy on our arrival - thank you!
All in all, the barn was a perfect base for our weekend of activities in Buxton and cosy nights in. Some of us hope to return in early 2017 to make use of the log burner!
