We called in for a Sunday lunch without a booking. We were offered a meal in 40mins as the pub has a small kitchen and needs to manage it's orders. We were happy to wait and enjoy a beer in comfortable and friendly surroundings. As promised our order was taken and we were given a delicious meal. Fully justifies it's rating. Best to book ahead as busy and has limited tables for meals

A traditional pub (frequented by locals which is always a good sign). The area around the bar and elsewhere quickly became packed on the Friday evening that we booked our meal. Service was good and both meals were exceptional.
Unfortunately someone had vomited the evening before and the stink prevailed. We sat near the open door to get as much fresh air as possible and would rather have left but we needed to eat and anywhere else would have been booked in any event.
Our grandchild vomited on our carpet on a number of occasions but we acted quickly and never had a smell lingering for long.
I would have thought that a day later the problem would have been resolved. It's unlikely to happen again and don't be put off going as we would return to experience the fine food offered.
