We stayed in this pet friendly cottage for one week in September. It is is an great location, with steep hills, lovely views and a short walk from the Sycamore Inn which is a very friendly pub with very well kept ales and great home cooked food. The house is over 4 floors, basement contains the freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, very useful. The ground floor a lovely light kitchen with table in a kind of conservatory, a couple of steps up to comfy sofas and a separate sitting room at the front of the house. The kitchen/conservatory area would benefit from blinds or curtains as you are overlooked especially when the lights are on at night. The bedrooms are lovely, two on the first floor a double and a single with pull out and there is a great shower room with lovely walk in shower but no bath. The top floor has great views over the countryside, a comfy bed and ensuite toilet.
We stayed in this fabulous cottage for a week 17-24 March with our two small dogs. It exceeded our expectations with the high standards and quality of furnishings and facilities. We have stayed in many cottages and this ranks up with the best. Matlock is very central for all areas you may wish to visit in Derbyshire, we even went up to Haworth took a couple of hours but worth it. The peak rail train is worth a visit taken you way back in time x
Would re visit Wilmot cottage.
