“Lovely!”
Reviewed 16 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Lovely cottage, lovely village, lovely area, and dry but cold weather in the second week of February. We had a great time. The cottage itself has all the finishing touches. Compact, but cozy and comfortable. Short drive to Bakewell, Matlock and Chatsworth and all of the Peak National Park. What's not to like? We didn't use the Devonshire Arms across the road as we got a slightly cold reception on the first night when we tried to get a table, and the menu is a bit contrived and pricey for our taste. But the Old Smithy up the road is superb, provides a real welcome and does a breakfast to die for.

“Fabulous cottage, idyllic village, lovely owner and family”
Reviewed 2 February 2015 for a stay in July 2014

Our first visit to the peak district and we made the perfect choice of accommodation and location. The cottage is in a fantastic location, is beautifully furnished with very comfy beds and a lovely garden with peaceful views over the surrounding countryside The owner Marlene lives next door and we enjoyed chatting to her and her 2 lovely boys who assisted us with our internet!!!!!
It is close to the beautiful Chatsworth House, Bakewell and many pretty villages. We
would not hesitate to recommend and look are looking forward to returning ourselves .

“Just found the perfect cottage”
Reviewed 3 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We have just spent New Year in the gorgeous Devonshire Cottage in Beeley. The cottage is wonderfully cosy, beautifully decorated and furnished, plenty of hot water, comfy bed, very well equipped with everything you need and more. The more being some thoughtful new year welcoming gifts from the owner Marlene. We had festive snow and we almost felt that Marlene had organised that for us too! Walks to Chatsworth, lazy lunches in the local pub and fabulous village cafe The Old Smithy and then back to our lovely welcoming cottage has made this a New Year to remember. We love to visit this area and now we have discovered our perfect cottage we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

“Fabulous find - an amazing cottage and a real gem for Derbyshire tourism”

We hired this cottage for our family over the Christmas period. The cottage was beautifully presented including the most gorgeous vase of fresh flowers and Christmas decorations. It was beautifully warm and cosy and the welcome pack even had a miniature Xmas tree in it!
So much care and attention had gone in to preparing everything for our stay.
The beds was really comfortable and the sheets was so soft and luxurious. Everyone slept fantastically well and came away so relaxed. Thank you Marlene for helping make our family Christmas such a special one this year.
We would absolutely recommend this cottage to anyone- it is gorgeous.

“Great find”
Reviewed 7 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

This is a lovely cottage on the Chatsworth estate, presented beautifully by the owner. I would recommend, especailly if you like walking. The cottage is perfect to return to and relax after a day out and about. High standard of bedding and towels and some lovely touches.
