“Fabulous find in heart of Bakewell”
Reviewed 7 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Spent a few days here with family and friends and couldn't be happier with experience. Lots of space for all - outside and in. Especially enjoyed the garden, strategically placed above the house, with amazing views of Bakewell and the surrounding area. Bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed. Bathrooms were contemporary with great water pressure. We cooked a couple of meals in and were pleased to find all the pots, pans, and dishes we needed. Location is perfect - shops, restaurants, etc. are just out the door. On my list for a repeat visit!

“Great Place for a family get-toegther”
Reviewed 19 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We had a wonderful long weekend staying in this cottage, which was ideal for a family get together of four couples and four small children. Some holiday cottages can feel a bit spartan, even clinical, but this cottage felt homely and welcoming throughout.

The layout of the property means the sitting room is away from all but one of the five bedrooms, which was ideal for our party. It was very well stocked with games, books and U-rated children’s films- all very helpful if you have early risers or rainy days. The kitchen was also well equipped to cater for large crowds, and there was plenty of space for all of us to sit at the dining table. The bathrooms are modern and hot water arrives quickly.

The garden affords pleasant views, and was a great place to spend a summer evening. The courtyard can fit three cars comfortably, and four at a push (in our case two people carriers and two small family cars).

“PERFECT group venue in the heart of Bakewell”

I booked Victoria Cottage From Friday-Sunday for my sister's hen party. The booking process was very smooth and the owner is friendly and responsive (some other properties sounded wary of hen parties, but it wasn't a problem at Victoria Cottages). It's also worth mentioning that we had the property until as late as we liked on the Sunday. When we arrived we couldn't have been happier with the property. The house is huge, spacious, clean and immaculately decorated. And the cherry on the cake is the sublime garden positioned above the property offering gorgeous views onto the surrounding scenery. It was so lovely that we took most of our meals at the house in the garden. The house has absolutely everything you could possibly need in it. There are 2 double beds and 5 proper singles. After that there is a smaller single bed (more for a child, but I squeezed into it) and sofa beds. The lounge is very large and fully equipped (TV, DVD player, sound system...). Also worth mentioning that we squeezed 4 cars into the drive. You are a 5 minute walk from the very centre of Bakewell. We enjoyed a lovely meal out at the Manners pub on the first night and drove the 10 minutes to Chatsworth for afternoon tea the following day. We had such a great time that we're planning to go back next year!

“Fantastic house- everything we needed!”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We stayed here as a group of guests at a wedding in Bakewell. It managed to fit all of us comfortably and had everything we could have asked for. The house is in great condition, with gorgeous bedrooms and bathrooms. The huge living room and lovely big kitchen means there is plenty of space for everyone to hang out and ejoy seeing each other as for many of us it had been a a long time since we'd seen each other! The house is 5 mins walk from Bakewell Registry office which was perfect for us! Plenty of space and great fun!

If you are looking for a fabulous cottage, 5 mins walk from the centre of Bakewell then look no further, this 5 bedroomed, 2 bathroom quirky cottage was an excellent find. Fitted with all modern cons, we could not fault the property nor the facilities. Home from home accommodate, the owner Maggie was exceptional and looked after us right from booking our trip to leaving.....would definitely recommend to anyone!!!
