My husband and I stayed at the Port Hotel for two nights along with our friends while traveling around Ireland. We loved the staff who were so very friendly but found ourselves very frustrated with the hotel itself. It was a little difficult to find, there was construction going across the street so the narrow streets were even more narrow than usual. Parking was not provided so we had to park a block away and walk in. We had the top two rooms on the 3rd floor accessible only by a narrow staircase (no elevator) but the staff generously offered to bring up our bags (though our menfolk steadfastly refused to let them). The rooms were of decent size but a little worn. The bathroom had a tiny electric shower that never produced a steady temperature so we spent most of our showers dancing in and out of the hot and cold water stream. Hairdryer and electric kettle with teas and coffees were provided, though the hairdryer was mounted in a drawer with little range for movement. Our room's window was on the street side so we heard a lot of traffic going all night in this busy port town that seemed to be flooded with young and slightly inebriated singles the two nights we were there. The breakfast was quite lovely, however, and made some of the quirks worth it. Wifi was ONLY available in the public areas (which are not big).

We called into the Port Hotel for a meal during a day trip to Portrush. The customer service was excellent from the waiting staff. The staff were all very attentive and I definitely will come back to this hotel again.

We spent 2 nights here and I really love this hotel.Smack in the middle of main street, close to everything! The staff are super friendly. The breakfasts are included and wonderful.I will definitely stay on my next trip.

Room Tip: ocean view rooms are great. You can look out over the main street and hear the water.

friendly proprietor.
helpful
got a nice room that is weakly insulated
appliances are a bit dated, lacks investment, but then, again, the rate was ok
so had a good experience an this is all that counts.
