“Donkey Derby!”
Review of Moy Village

Absolutely marvellous drive from the beautiful town of Dungannon to what can only be best described as a mediocre, wind-bush of a street! Has got a nice Chippy mind you and a ruddy good Chinese but the people are strange to outsiders (Almost as bad as Coalisland) unless you drive a 4 × 4 ( Volvo preferably, old money you know...) Always a psni presence just in case the Donkey Trailer gets nicked but worth going to for the chippy alone, if nothing else!

Couldn't spend more than an hour here, please don't drive any distance to visit here, a glorified carpark with a few shops spread around it. A few small cafes always full of locals spending their dole. Avoid.

The guide was well informed and pleasant. She did speak a little too fast. The place had a sort of Rip van Winkle air as all the possessions were those of the people who used to live there and this was appreciated as another tour of a similar house was filled with things appropriate to the period but not belonging to the house. It was interesting to see the books that the owners read. I didn't like the temporary lighting fixture at all but I really liked the little bronze in the last room. The gift shop was stocked with good quality gifts. The cream teas were delicious.

Moy is a beautiful village, nice shops and lovely people. The river Blackwater runs through the bottom of the village. Good for fishing. Nice hotel, The Ryandale, good food and good service. A nice place to visit. On the down side and the reason why I didn't give it five stars! The main Dungannon to Armagh road runs through the centre of the village. A by pass and Moy would be excellent
