Owner description: We are a warm and cosy micropub, true to the values of the micropub ethos. We offer a warm welcome (as our many reviews testify) and 5 ever-changing real ales from around the country hand-pulled to perfection. We are in the Camra Good Beer Guide for the second year running. In addition to real ale we also dispense still cider, a range of wines (3 red, 3 white, 1 rose and 1 prosecco) together with a range of continental bottled beers.
Useful Information: Food available for purchase

What’s a fabulous place!! We had found the beer engine on trip advisor when looking for places to go for a drink whilst staying and skipton and this place did not disappoint, fabulous ales and wines, welcoming locals, James is a fun and engaging host and the prices are very reasonable, we will most definitely be visiting again, could not recommend enough!

A group of 6 pontefract lads was in Skipton a pub crawl for the day so I researched all the places to go and the beer engine was the place I wanted to go the most and it certainly lived up to the hype. A small hidden bar down a side street with great atmosphere friendly locals and hosts. A must for a real ale lovers and I particularly enjoyed sampling some of the boxed ciders. Thank you for your hospitality will 100% be back when in Skipton. Wish it was my local

Brought friends here for the first time and we all had a good time. As usual, the service was friendly and swift, the beer was really good and the place was packed to the rafters on a Saturday afternoon.

The thing about the Beer Engine is that once inside, you feel like you are having a party in your own front room at home. The place is so compact and everyone, strangers and acquaintances, all socialise together and are all here to enjoy the same thing - good conversation and really good ale.
