Great establishment- highly recommended. Fabulous views and as the title suggests excellent sunset views. Popular with locals and tourists so booking always recommended- especially for views of the sunset.
The staff are very accommodating and hospitable. They work very hard and are rushed off their feet at peak times.
The menu is comprehensive enough without being a book. Everything which one expects with some nice specials too.
The food is plentiful but the best tasted are village salad with chillis, king prawns, stifado and cod fillet. All excellent - tasty accompaniments of couscous, lentils and beans /vegetables.
There is always a complimentary dessert of marble cake and grapes.
Good wine selection and a good selection of spirits.
A place to linger- it's a relaxed pace so enjoy dinner and the sunset.

Admittedly, there aren't that many restaurants in Tala, but there's definitely a reason that the Melitzia is the number 1 on TripAdvisor. We visit at least twice a year, and it's a firm favourite with all my family.
This time we came away again marvelling at what excellent value it is - €55 for a village salad and tzatziki, 4 main courses, soft drinks for the kids, a carafe of wine and a couple of bottles of water, and of course the free dessert of grapes and cake that comes without asking each time. Of course the quality is also excellent (the amazing home made chips get a mention!) Try the meze if it's your first visit and you've starved yourself for 3 days, or just stick to the Kleftiko!

This is a hidden gem which I am reluctant to reveal.

It is a genuine family run taverna which we visited on two occasions. The first visit was mid week and we managed to get a table as boy is this place popular with tourists and locals alike.

We decided to try the Meze and all I can say is bring an appetite , you get a salad bread and dips to start and then the meat dishes start arriving with some amazing beans and lentils as side dishes. Sufficed to say we reached a point where we could not eat any more and the restaurant will gave you us a take away for what left which I had for lunch the following day with pitta bread. 14 Euro each and worth every penny.

Our second visit was on a Friday evening and we arrogantly just expected to be seated without recognising the popularity of this place ( make sure you book ) as it is so popular with locals and tourists alike. This being said we were shown to an inside table with an amazing panoramic window and apologies that they were so busy.

We were given local bread with dips the tzatziki is to die for we ordered haloumi which was delicious and had fish fillet as a main course which was delicious. We also sampled the local white wine which was nice and rounded off the meal with complimentary cake and grapes.

The owner apologised for sitting us inside but this wasn't required as we did not book and as we left the place as usual was packed.

All in all a great authentic taverna , lovely views but make sure you book, friendly service and keenly priced for any budget. Don't over do the starters as the mains are huge. Enjoy
