Just got back from a 2 night break at The Longlands Inn & Restaurant. Great location.
From arriving to departure the staff where welcoming and friendly very helpful.
Rob is an excellent manager professional very friendly nothing too much trouble always checking with us to make sure everything was OK during our stay and a few jokes in-between as well.
Room was very spacious .clean .comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast .
Felt very safe during the current situation with all precautions in place well done.
Had evening meal in the restaurant was very good .
Just like to say a big thanks to Dan who went the extra mile to look after us .
Would recommend a visit to anyone .
We will definitely be back

Booked in advance whilst having a few days away with family. I had checked the menu out beforehand and it certainly looked pricey but I assumed the quality would reflect the price. We opted for 3 steak burgers (ha yes I said steak) and one penang curry. Service was adequate on a busy evening but as soon as the food came out warning signs started to ring. The burger wasn't a fresh steak burger it was infact a mass produced processed steaklet which most definitely wasn't homemade or fresh which you would expect for £14 and was very rubbery in texture, served in a ciabatta bun . The fries were again mass produced frozen fries which were tasteless. A dollop of tasteless coleslaw on the side didn't add anything to the meal. The 3 of us picked at our meals as we knew we wouldn't get in anywhere else on a busy evening. The curry wasn't as bad but was also very bland and tasteless. Now normally these 4 meals would be £56 yes £56 !!!!! So with the Eat Out Scheme our food bill came to £28 so worked out at £7 a meal and I still felt robbed at that ! We voiced our criticism with our waitress and she said she would pass our opinions on. I wouldn't eat that meal again even if it was free nevermind half price. What looked like a quality establishment from the outside served very unacceptable food on the inside.

Stopped for a nice sandwich for lunch but no sandwiches just meal lunches. Ok then so had gammon and a STEAK burger. Gammon really nice. STEAK burger tasted and looked like a processed cheap burger. Looked nice and thick, with blue cheese. No blue cheese just a mild tasteless cheese. Cheap coleslaw. £14. Yuk. Sorry about this review but very disappointed. Good job we had a discount from the government scheme.

We are sorry to hear your meals were not up to the standards we normally serve. The steak burgers are not processed or cheap and we will take these comments back to our supplier as we pride ourselves on supplying good local produce. The burger is served with Creamy Lancashire Cheese which doesn't have an overpowering flavour.

I will talk to the team to make sure they dealt with your disappointment on the day of your visit and hope you may visit us again in the future.

This was a first meeting with friends after lockdown. My table was booked in advance and we observed the social distancing. The service was a little slow but the orders were taken at a time when the restaurant had become very busy. Two ordered the chicken salad starter (available as a main) and one ordered the ham terrain. The chicken salad starter was adequate with 3 or 4 breast slices and a poached egg topper including tasty blue cheese. We all had dessert one creme brûlée and two ice cream sundaes. It was all very good.
I had read the media reports of customers being aggressive towards restaurant staff and mentioned this to the general manager when we paid our much discounted tab. He told me it was true, frequent and regular - how very disappointing.
Well done all Longlands staff and thank you!

Stop here on way to Northumberland. it was a great value for money, with helpful and friendly staff. Room was large for the cost and was clean. Breakfast was lovely and served by the very out going manager!
