The cottage is well situated, large bank of windows looks out over the lake so sunsets can be spectacular. Kitchen is adequate, but missing some (or limited quantities) of the smaller, but nice to have items, like glassware. Bedrooms and bathroom in the main cottage are very nice, but the bunkie needs work. Just a single daybed and a very uncomfortable pullout couch. The bathroom in the bunkie is more like a closet.
The other disappointment was the beach (or lack thereof). I realize this is just Mother-nature and no fault of the cottage owner, but if you are thinking about renting this location, just be aware, the high water levels on Lake Huron have pretty much swallowed the beach.
Bottom line.....not great value, for the cost.
11 miles south of Kincardine, Lake front, 2 Bedrooms, great living room, dishwasher, fridge , stove, washer & dryer! Sun room, large kitchen and dining area, barbecue and 6 chairs + table outdoors and 3 chairs to sit in the sunshine on the deck
While we were delighted with the inside of the cottage, the beach photos attached to the cottage listing were not true to current beach conditions. This is a shame as we spend 80% of our time when we're at the cottage outside and mostly at the beach. Water levels were very high and there was basically minimal beach to sit on before you were in the water. This was disappointing and the pics should be updated for current renters so as not to mislead them. I've attached what the beach actually looked like and they are world's apart compared to what was advertised. Due to this reason, I would suggest the price of the cottage be lowered as it was overpriced in my opinion compared to other rentals.
