“Fabulous Cottage in an idilic location. Loved it!”
Reviewed 14 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Modern and stylish, the cottage is amply supplied with all that is needed for self caterging. I loved cooking at the island hob and being able to talk with everyone at the same time. Helen and Brian were lovely leaving a much appreciated welcome pack and even supplying us with some home made cheese ans walnut bread - home made bread- it dosen't get much better than that in my book. We had one meal out at the local pub on our last night, it is about 200 yard up the the road. Might have eaten there more often had I realised how good the food was, great for vegetarians and meat eaters. In the cottage having a bedroom down stairs and the Jack and Jill bathroom is a real help, especially when you have mobility problems, having the upstairs showerroom worked out well for us allowing space for young and old to bath in peace. I'll be passing on details to friend and family and hope to be back to visit Northumberland in the near future

“Lovely short weekend away. Great food too!”
Reviewed 18 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

My husband, son and I stayed at the Garden Cottage for a long weekend, and it was absolutely perfect. The place was very clean and we had everything that we needed, including a bottle of wine and some shortbread on arrival. The beds were really comfortable, as were the sofas, and the kitchen was well equipped to cook up a storm. The owners were very hospitable and recommended the local pub for a meal, and it was so nice that we went back twice in three days. Perfect stay, will be back in the summer. Thanks Brian and Helen!

Beautiful little cottage in a very quiet & picturesque village. The cottage is extremely well-equipped (including home baked bread on arrival!) and very comfortable. The owners were away for most of our stay, but when we did meet them they were very friendly & helpful.
During our stay we visited Durham & the excellent Hall Hill Farm, Hexham & the South Tynedale Railway at Alston.
We're definitely considering a return visit!

Lovely, clean cottage with helpful, friendly owners next door. Pub within walking distance and so much to see and do nearby. Vindolanda and Alnwick castle a must.
