Great day out. Our little lad is almost 5 and was delighted to see all the aircraft and to have a go in simulator! Will definitely be back. Thanks to all the lovely, helpful staff we met today. You are a credit to the museum.

Having served at Royal Air Force Tangmere from 1966 to 1969 i was intrigued to find out about the museum and how the changes were made since the Station was closed in 1970.
There is so much to see and do you could easily spend the best part of the day there. Apart from all the exhibits they have lots of story's and videos about the hero's who fought so hard to keep our country safe from the Luftwaffe. The Douglas Bader story in particular was so interesting to watch.
They have a Linc Trainer that you can book a flight in if you fancy yourself being a pilot for the day, lots of vintage aircraft to see and you can even pop into the NAAFI for char & a wad if you're feeling peckish.
The Memorial garden is not to be missed. It's a very peaceful and calm place where you can reflect on all the heroic airmen who gave their lives for their Country.
A great day out!

i visited today on a educational trip with my 9 year old son. a very friendly man (the one who volunteers with the churches also) showed us around, helped my son with the simulators and told us what happened at the battle of britain and to poor dennis noble. We both learnt a lot and really enjoyed our trip. all the staff were so friendly. cafe was nice. we will be back

My husband and I were taking a break from Derbyshire and staying in Sussex so looked at what there was about.. Tangmere. Ok think we’ll go and have a little look about.
WHOW! What a great museum.
This Museum has it all.
Friendly and helpful staff willing to spend time and talk to you about the planes, the items in the museum and even help you “fly” in a simulator. Great fun.
From the minute we parked the car and chatted to some of the workforce outside do jobs on the planes we knew it was going to be special as you just felt the friendly atmosphere.
Great cafe on site with inside and outside seating.
Thank you all you do a wonderful job.
