Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: Glenkinchie Distillery lies in the heart of the East Lothian countryside, 15 miles from Edinburgh. Why not pay a visit to see how we produce the Edinburgh Malt. After a trip around our museum, where you can see a wonderful model of a distillery, you will then be taken round the distillery by one of our experienced and informative guides who will explain the stages of production of Single Malt Whisky. You will visit the Kiln Room, the Millroom, The Mash House, the Tun Room and the Stillhouse where you will see one of the largest Copper Pot Stills in Scotland. After a trip to the traditional warehouse you will finish up in the bar with a dram or two of Whisky

Very good tour. We were a group of 6 friends visiting Edinburgh for the weekend. We were picked up on a shuttle bus from the centre at 10am and it was a 35 minute drive to the distillery. Brian was our tour guide and he was very informative and friendly. At the end, everyone was able to try two whiskeys. We paid extra (I think only £2) to try a couple more whiskies of our choice, which was definitely worth it. The shuttle back left at 12:45, so the tour was 1.5 - 2 hours total. The tour is a great thing to do, especially if it’s a rainy day!

Beautiful country setting just 30 minutes from down town Edinburgh . Very informative tour . It is a beautiful distillery to walk around. Our tour guide , John ( white hair- they have 2 people named John) was absolutely amazing . He made the experience that much more. We are so glad that we chose this distillery . We were allowed to talk pictures everywhere but one area. We had 4 tastings at the end which was great . Very professional and responsible, they offer " doggy bottles" for left over from the Scotch tastings . We enjoyed a few more sips after dinner !

We were a party of 6 including 2 French friends, our guide Brian was brilliant, he waited while my wife translated for our friends, and he did not rush or made us feel as if we had to hurry. The tasting was excellent and several bottles were purchased. It is a small distillery yes it is owned by Diageo, but that was not a problem for us. As they say in Scotland slangevar.

Visit to Glenkinchie Distillery was an interesting part of our Scottish Borders tour with Timberbush. Our very knowledgeable guide introduced us to all the tricks of Scottish Whisky making: he showed us the ingredients, the equipment, and clearly explained each step of the process to us.

The tasting at the end of the tour was included in the ticket price. To be honest, I am not a whisky drinker and did not appreciate the taste at all, but my husband readily volunteered to help me with my two shots and enjoyed his own as well as mine

The distillery shop is wonderful - perfect place to buy an authentic gift from Scotland.

Really interesting tour made even better with personal insights into history and practices of distilleries generally. Followed by tasting session and I handed over my keys. Thanks again
