“A wonderful home base for a vacation on the Costa Rican central Pacific coast”
Reviewed 30 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

We spent almost two weeks in this three bedroom, three bathroom villa in a gated community with 24-hour security just off of the main road along the central Pacific coast. We loved every minute of our stay. Playa Bejuco is midway between Jaco and Quepos and a perfect location for exploring the coastline. Shannon, Dave & Shirley took really good care of us, handling any problems we encountered and answering any questions. They provided suggestions for an itinerary for guests and booked three tours for us in advance. The tours that they recommended -- a monkey/mangrove tour, a crocodile river boat tour, and an aerial tram tour -- were excellent. The villa is solar powered and equipped with air conditioning, but we never used it because the ceiling fans and floor fans were sufficient for cooling the air. It was a pleasure to sleep with the windows open and listen to the birds in the middle of January. There are comfortable sitting areas both inside and outside and an upstairs covered deck that catches a nice breeze in the late afternoon. The landscaping is really nice. The property has a strong Wi-Fi signal unless you're on the upstairs deck. The villa is a short walk (2-1/2 blocks) from a lovely community pool array. The villa has a washer and dryer and ample clotheslines for wet swimsuits and towels, as well as three television sets. The kitchen is fully equipped and also has a coffee pot and an electric kettle. If you need a hairdryer, bring it with you. The ocean is about a 5-10 minute walk from the property gate, as is a small grocery store that sells food staples and beverages. A rental car is really necessary to take advantage of this location. It's about equal distance from Carara National Park and Manuel Antonio National Park. We didn't see any monkeys within the Costa del Sol community, but we did see lots and lots of iguanas. The property is close (within 10 km) of several restaurants. Our favorites were Alma del Pacifico (Esterillos Este) and Pitos Que Comemos (Parrita). The property is an easy 2-hour drive on good roads from the San Jose airport. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Costa Rica and highly recommend this property.

“Great Place for a Family”
Reviewed 15 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Three bedrooms and 3 ensuites, plus many couches and chairs made this a great rental for our family for a month. The house also has 3 televisions, ACs in each bedroom, a large AC in the living room, and a dishwasher.
The complex has a tennis court and 2 large pools, one of which is easy access for people with mobility issues (my elderly mother made great use of this pool). We met many people at the pool, including Ticos, but the expats in the complex hold pot luck dinners at the beach every sunday, so we met many more great folks there.
The backyard has a very nice patio and green space, where we enjoyed many meals, plus a second story tower where we watched birds and enjoyed the breeze on hot days. The wifi extends into the backyard.
The owners were very attentive and helpful, with advice and support, and quickly replaced burned out light bulbs, etc.
A car at this complex is highly recommended for getting groceries, going out for meals, and day trips, but one neighbouring family got around using bikes and buses.
The BBQ is small, so we mostly used the stove for cooking.
We paid in cash which helped with the rate, and our deposit was remibursed within two days.
Playa Bejuco is changing, lots of new housing being built, which will mean more people on the road and at the beach. We plan to visit again, and sooner rather than later.

Liked best: The house is spacious and the complex offered things to meet everyone's needs
Liked least: The king size bed was noisy and the BBQ is not as good as our BBQ.

“The best vacation rental we've ever had”
Reviewed 14 January 2015 for a stay in March 2014

This house is beautiful. Far and away better than hotels at 3 times the price. I wish my house was this nice. The location is very quiet. You are only a short walk to a beautiful beach with very few people on it. Go to the beach at sundown. It is unbelievable. The community pools are nice with very little traffic as well. If you are wanting to party or do a lot of shopping this may not be the place for you. If you want scenery this is definitely the place. Oh, don't forget to walk along the tree line by the beach. The macaws hang out there (lots of them). Shannon was VERY helpful. She was able to help us find a good rental car for a fraction of what we could find on our own. Ask her about the monkey tour. It's a lot of fun. She can also help you arrange transportation to from and to the airport. The WIFI was nice to have as well.

“Beatiful place!”
Reviewed 18 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed on Casa del Sol for 7 days. We receive a vist from my wife's family from Germany. We were 4 adults and 2 childrens.

We had a beautiful time on this very nice house. It is nicely furnished, the terrace was beautiful and all the condo is nice too. It is close to many Central Pacific beaches, like Bejuco (just 300 m walk) and to Manuel Antonio, Dominical and Jaco.

The service was excellent. The house also have a Grid-tie solar system to save money on electricity bill and to preserve the planet.

I will recommend this house to my friends and relatives

“I didn't want to leave!”
Reviewed 13 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

I would have paid double for this place! This house is gorgeous, clean and feels like home. I really didn't want to leave! Shannon, the property manager was awesome. She helped us with everything and made some great recommendations. The beach is so close and it's one of the best in the area! There is also a little store you can walk to for some staple items to keep in the house. Above all, I felt safe! It is a gated community with tight security. It exceeded all of our expectations. I would absolutely stay here again.
