Wonderful guide and tour organised as an add on from a Cruise on the Queen Elizabeth on a maiden visit to Visby
explanation of why walls are at different heights . The guide was an English man resident on Visby for a number of years

Learn the history of the town and visit the city wall to make the most of your visit. We started at the Gotlands museum.

This was a short 8 hour stop on our Baltic cruise. It was enough time to grab a bus tour to see the island and walk the quaint old town. At one point this was a busy way point for Baltic trade and an embarkation point for western exploration. Seeing how much the sea has receided form several hundred years ago was remarkable. The Viking museum was a high point. If selecting a cruise, this is worth selecting one that has this on the itinerary.
