Perfect place for a holiday. Gorgeous well equipped cottage in lovely quiet location but accessible to Kennet and Avon Canal, Bath and Bristol. lots of lovely walks from the door. Charming hosts.
Couldn't drag myself away from Naomi and Phil's idyllic retreat. They couldn't have been more welcoming - but unobtrusive - when I came for a week's escape with my children (aged 9 and 7) in February half term.
The cottage is exquisite, warm and beautifully well equipped. The village of Freshford is delightful with a village shop to rival Waitrose and a gorgeous fire lit gastro pub.
Fire being a theme, Phil helped my son learn to lay and light fires in the wood burner - especially lovely as the warm welcome wasn't quite matched by the weather!
What typifies the whole trip was that on seeing my mudcaked trainers outside (we had been for an adventurous walk by the picturesque river!) Naomi and Phil whipped them away and returned them pristine.
We slept better and better each night and returned to London so refreshed, leaving a little bit of our hearts behind.
A beautiful, very well designed and decorated cottage. Great location, local pub with great food and hospitality, cafe and shop all within walking distance. Freshford train station is also a 10minute walk away which takes you on a very short journey into Bath. We will most definitely return to this little gem in the future.
Beautiful views and peaceful setting, with very good food in local Inn. Train convenient to Bath, although to busy with a pushchair with Xmas market and rugby coinciding !
Owners very helpful and very generous with extras they offer in the cottage !
We enjoyed our 10 night stay with Philip and Naomi - great accommodation with beautiful boutique touches - perfect for a family to enjoy all Somerset and Wiltshire has to offer, would definitely recommend
