I had booked by e-mail to play in a competition but found on arrival at the club, I had not been entered. A very inefficient start on the club's part.
The club employees did put right their error and I duly played. The course was in poorish condition with bumpy greens. The first tee is a bus ride (or 10 mins in a buggy) from the clubhouse and the first 14 holes are terraced across a ski slope with a number of blind tee shots and approach shots.
From the 14th green to the 15th tee involves another bus ride or drive a buggy on public roads.
Holes 15 and 16 go back up the slope whilst 17 and 18 come back down.
Green Fee was 95 SFr, Competition Fee was 20 SFr and the buggy was 55 SFr equating in total to £133 for a round of golf. The course is only 5000 yds long (4500m).
Whilst there were magnificent views from the course and a very pleasant hut with free sandwiches and wine after the 10th hole, it was certainly not value for money.
Despite being partnered with two very pleasant locals who spoke excellent English and a very helpful staff, I will not be rushing to play there again.
I have played golf through Europe and the States and this is undoubtedly the worst 'value for money' I have come across
