Compared to other ski areas (like the Stubai Glacier area), this area is fairly small. Additionally, the snowboard fun park area was closed due to weather conditions (in January!). Most routes are red, so it is OK for the average skill level. But our family needs the full range (blue, red and black). Only one black route was open and it was very icy starting around 11am. The blue routes are too short, so the "blue" family member used the red routes, but stopped skiing when they started to expose their icy patches around 11am. So we tended to come early (8am) and leave early (11.30am). It is unlikely we will return.

We took the ski lift up to the top and then took the mountain carts back down. It was fantastic fun!
These little carts don't have a seatbelt but I felt safe sitting in them as you're so low.
You get given a helmet, ideally wear some glasses for wind blockage. Each wheel has small discs break which I used to aide steering.
I am hoping to return and have some more fun !

Out of Munich one can reach the ski area by car within 45 minutes. By train and bus it takes somewhat longer. The ski area is relatively small, but ideal for younger children or beginners. The Skischule Spitzingsee is the best.

Here in late June and the wildflowers are all beginning to come out. The views are amazing and it's not crowded. A very good experience.

Skiing from this place needs courage & confidence for new people. You need to go into the cable car to the top of the mountain & then from there you ski down. You needs skills too. It;s dangerous for those without a guide or a trainier. We swa some guides & trainers standing at the bottom of the mountain to ensure the safety.
