The hotel is in general very attractive combining a historic building with a few modern annexes.
Our room in the modern annex was totally attractive, modern and spacious.
Due to Corona, breakfast was served at the table and staff at the restaurant did a great job (as did they at dinner times).
Now the bad part: the room rate was not cheap, but apparently the hotel wanted to compensate their loss during the Corona shut down now to the expense of their guests.
Front desk was totally understaffed, but had to take care of the heightened number of guest requests (you have to reserve for breakfast, dinner, sauna, pool etc.)
Maintainance left much to be desired: upon our arrival the A/C did not work and the poor front desk employee had to take care of that, too. Our hair dryer broke and it took three attemps to get a new one. A flap opened now and then from our bathroom ceiling. Cobwebs were to be found in public areas. No room cleaning (which we were not informed of at check-in), although we stayed in two other Bavarian hotels right before where cleaning was not a problem.
I am aware of the hardships Corona means for the hotel industry, but taking advantage of paying guest so clearly is in my opinion not a sustainable strategy.More
