I was heading to Ramiseto where I'd be visiting my mourning relatives. By happenstance I was in Italy, when my 99 year old great aunt passed. I traveled from Milan to Emilia that evening and was going to be staying at my favorite B&B ( Flowers B&B di Varnia Tronconi, Ramiseto (RE)). It was too early to go to bed and I was hungry. Along the road I noticed and decided to stop at Osteria il Fortino. Entering, I was warmly greeted, seated and promptly served my menu, grisini (bread sticks). Because I didn't want to make an evening of it I only wanted an antipasto, which was mixed deli meats, frittata and gnocchi fritte (Deep fried dough usually squares). My only other dish that night was Tagliatelle con Ragu`. Pasta was definitely homemade. All-in-all it was a pleasant experience for a weary foreigner.
