This restaurant was not open for very long and the next time it was gone - We had full intentions of visiting but unfortunately it didn't do well in Hillcrest.

Had a disastrous lunch at Yossis today. First of all on ordering, they didn't have passion fruit cordial, feta cheese and chicken. Ordered a meze platter (R120) falafel and a salad. This order took 40 minutes to arrive. Size of the portions in meze platter was about a tea spoon of each, pitta bread very stale, brinjals in salad not cooked. All in all a disaster. No management to be seen at all.

The decor is nice and cozy with a few irretating bright lights which they "forgot" to switch off. We expected some real spicy moroccan food but the platter we had was over priced and far from what one would expect.

Went to Yossi's for the first time and was apprehensive when I got there as there were very few people, but I was very impressed. The service was wonderful and the food was just as good. I had a falafel burger and when it arrive I couldn't believe my eyes, it was huge and did not disappoint taste wise. There is a great variety for both vegetarian and meat eaters. The atmosphere is great with a great selection of music adding to the relaxed environment. I really recommend Yossi's if you are looking for something different and a great atmosphere!

Our first visit here, but will not be our last. Rather pricey, but fortunately good report overall on food and quality.
I settled for a chicken curry - very tasty, not really a curry, but enjoyable, even though a tad shy of chicken. Flavorsome and enjoyable as plenty of potato made up (for this Irishman) for the shyness of chicken. My wife had the Falafel burger, and this cannot be faulted in any way. Fresh Pita bread, generous falafel and tasty feta cheese sauce with brinjal.

A cupacino coffee had good strong flavour, and the best of the lot was the deep fried ice cream. Will come back just for this. This is a dessert not seen in too many establishments because of the difficulty in executing the dish perfectly. The best I have ever tasted,
Items were rather pricey for what was received and could not quantify value for money, but certainly worth at least one visit for something different from the run of the mill restaurant.
