We spent a fortnight in the gite at Chateau de Lucy with our two children, aged 8 and 14.
The chateau is lovely and peaceful with a real sense of history and the characterful gite was very clean and well equipped.
Martin and Amanda were on hand to help when needed and provided outdoor games for us all. The pool was really appreciated by our 8 year old on hot afternoons.
The three apartments at the Chateau are well laid out so that everyone has their own private outdoor space.
There is plenty to do within a reasonably short distance including St Quentin, Laon, Guise and many World War 1 sites.
We had a lovely holiday. Thank you.
Could we as a family thank you for providing us with a perfect base for
our French holiday. There was so much to do within an hours drive or
less that we experience everything from the Tattinger Champagne cellars
to the Theipval Memorial but it was great to come back to such a
peaceful oasis surrounded by trees and we enjoyed memorable meals on
the balcony. Locally St Quentin, Guise and Loan were well worth a visit. We were also able to pre-book tickets for a days rail trip to Paris at a cost of 60 euros for all 4 of us with free parking at St Quentin Station 10 miles away. On warm summer days it was great to be able to just open the large windows and let the sun and air in. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the Gite and the exceptional welcome pack was much appreciated especially the champagne. We have never felt as relaxed on holiday.
