This is a place for naturelovers. Don't bring your stilletos here. A stunningly beautiful idyllic setting. Ideal for a bunch of people (I went with two families with their kids). We all had plenty of space to do our own thing, play frisbee, ping-pong, walking, running or just read by the waterside. My gite was right next to the waterfall - so there was the constant gush of water - but I slept like a log. The families went off and I preferred to stay back and relax. The weather was fantastic so we barbecued outside most nights.
The old stone cottages are delightfully picturesque and comfy (though we only went inside to sleep).
Everything was clean and in good working order. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking our own food - and if we needed anything else the host kindly obliged.
The grounds are extensive and beautiful - but the river and the sound of the waterfall are the overriding feature - together with the abundance of waterlife e.g heron's daily visit. The owner's horse and little pony in the adjoining field. There's also a very friendly dog and two nonchalent cats.
Johnny and Lynne were a good source of local info and were on hand to answer questions, have a chat over a glass of wine, but equally weren't in our faces.
Wifi was a bit sketchy in my gite but totally acceptable in the barn.
Would come back and would recommend to a friend.
