Stayed here again for a one night stop over on the way to the tunnel. It has been improved since our last stay 3 years ago. Rooms are small but do the job.
Only down side was no draught beer in the bar. Was really looking forward to it after driving all day. the chilled bottles were fine though.
Staff very helpful

We decided to have a weekend break in northern France and chose the Boulogne Ibis as we stayed there many years ago and like the fact that the hotel is opposite the entrance to the old town. Easy, free parking opposite the hotel. Our room was small, but fine for a couple. Great bed and very clean. Didn't use the wifi as it is currently free for Brits to use data and calls in the EC if it is in your package (who knows what will happen after the idiocracy of Brexit). We didn't take breakfast as one can buy a croissant at the bakery nearby. Hotel bar was okay, but despite the pumps, they had no draught beer while welcoming patrons to come in and watch the world cup.

Standard Ibis hotel. Room a little small for a double but maybe I was given a smaller room as a lone traveller. You could only really get in and out of the bed from one side as bed practically against the wall. Breakfast good. Lots of public free parking right opposite hotel as hotel car park available but very narrow entrance to get in (caught one of my wing mirrors both going in and coming out due to narrowness of entrance and size of my car (standard 4x4)).

Great location, by the old town with good restaurants.
You can usually park near outside, but not over night on Saturday on the car park over the road because of the Sunday am market.
The shower is dangerously slippery. Use the floor towel for safety.
The heater air conditioning switch is mort and wrongly labelled.
I filled in the Ibis online feedback but they just triggered the apology letter automatically. It's done by a third party and it absorbs the complaints rather than taking action. But, like the Poseidon, it awaits change. Hope the refurb is good.
Staff excellent by the way.
Location is great too!

We stayed twice at this hotel as a couple in May 2018. It is many years since we had last visited the town, with no ferries from the UK now serving the port it had become just another sign on the motorway from Calais. We decided to change our habits for this recent visit and so stayed overnight in Boulogne for our first and last nights of the holiday. We were very pleased with this hotel on the first visit and so had no hesitation in booking again for the end of our holiday.

The rooms we were given were comfortable and had almost all we needed. The ‘almost’ derives from the number of towels, just one each. Perhaps we could have had more if we had asked. Otherwise the room was fine, the bed very comfortable and we had nice views of the old town walls on each occasion. The hotel has its own parking but we didn’t need that as there is sufficient free parking just across the road at the foot of the city walls.

We decided to take breakfast at the hotel for convenience despite some negative reviews from earlier guests. We were delighted with the buffet offered and had no hesitation about reserving both room and breakfasts for our return visit. The breakfast buffet really does cater for all tastes in our view; the bread and pastries were good quality, there was fruit in various guises and eggs could be cooked as one wanted. When compared with other hotel breakfasts we felt that this offered good value for money.

The only serious concern we have about this hotel is that it doesn’t have air conditioning. That wasn’t a problem in May but it might be worth thinking about for visits in the height of summer.

We will certainly be using this hotel again and very much look forward to our next visit when I will remember to ask for an additional towel!
