The rue du Strasbourg has twenty restaurants in close proximity, with free parking nearby. The benefits of competition are clear to see. They are all trying hard to win custom and keep it.
We dropped into le Braseiro on a damp Monday lunchtime when few of the others were open, and enjoyed our menu du jour at 14.50 euros a head for three courses. The starter of grilled goat's cheese was tasty, the main course a "grill it yourself" of beef with a baked potato and sauces was novel and good, the dessert of a chocolate fondant with a chocolate ice cream scoop was a perfect ending. I say "grill it yourself" because a mini barbecue is brought to the table ready to go and you literally barbecue your own strips of beef to your taste, Different and fun.
Recommended.

OK. The Ratatouille was excellent, the different sauces were bland. You did your own cooking at the table which is very sociable . Desert was very tasty but all in all, too expensive compared to other restaurants.

In the end, they don't do any cooking so it is quite expensive for what it is.
Meat is fresh and nice.
Cheese plate is a joke: 3 small slices, cheese not ripe, tasteless
Bread is some sort of loaf/toast....not what you expect when in France
Wine selection is again expensive for what it is.

It might be fun to cook on your brasero but this is not enough in a region where gastronomy is taken to high level. Sorry!
Much better options nearby !

Loved choosing our meat and then grilling it table side. Chose beef and duck which were so fresh and delicious. The 4 sauces were outstanding. Couldn't decide which was my favorite.
Started with foie gras which was excellent. Husband had escargots which he devoured. And our dessert was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

On a wet evening in March this was just the place. A do it yourself Indoor barbecue! Fortunately we'd booked and we were rewarded with a great night.
We arrived early but there was no problem and about 5 minutes after we arrived it started to rain seriously so the warmth was very much appreciated!.
There is a list of platters each with a different assortment of meats. You just chose which you would like. The 28 Euro menu is really good value as you get a starter and dessert as well. The four of chose a different platter each and just shared the lot! There is a big baked jacket potato with tasty dips and a ramekin of veg that accompanies the meat. The chef arrives with a hot plate and tells you which meats (or fish) are which and off you go!
A tip. Toast the bread on the hot plate and spread with some of the Epoisses cheese dip. A real treat.
The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was great (a full restaurant with everyone chatting away) and the cooking........ well it's your fault if you burn anything!
We hadn't been for a long time but it was as good as we'd remembered.
