“Perfect Getaway”
Reviewed 2 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

If you are looking for a getaway from the city and stress, this is the place to go. The house is located in a valley and you are surrounded by amazing sunsets and sunrises. You will enjoy the beautiful, wild nature in the valley and closely located river.
The casale itself is very well decorated, I loved the interior design. The house is run by a young family and you can tell that this is a real home rather than a vacation house. All rooms are very cozy for a perfect relaxation and I loved the Jacuzzi!!! Another great point is that this is not a touristic area, but you will get easily to other Umbrian Regions, such as Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio etc.
I just loved my stay here.

We had a wonderful stay in Casale Le Ripe. If was as the website describes, except even better in person. Every room is comfortable and cozy, the kitchen equipped to cook whatever your heart desires, a fireplace to gather around in the evening, and a back terrace that I promise you will never want to leave. One might expect to be remote you have to sacrifice some comforts (a good shower, water you can drink from the faucet, wifi), but that is not the case here as everything has been thought of and redone with such care. And even though the place is remote, access to services like groceries is easy and the location for exploring Umbria’s big and small hill towns is perfect. We day tripped to Assisi, Orvieto, a number of small hill towns, and had a wonderful olive oil/wine tour at nearby Monte Vibiano (which our hosts recommended.) One day, we passed on a day trip to just enjoy the house and the creek where our children played for hours. Mathias and Aurelie were great communicating with us before and during our stay, and after being in their home which is filled with treasures from their many travels – we only wish we could have enjoyed a long dinner with them. We are Americans living as Expats in Europe for a couple of years and travel very frequently, and I can tell you that this is one of the most special places we have found. "

We were here for a family gathering with many people from 0 to 77 and enjoyed a great stay. The house is charming, very confortable, many beds, very practical, big bathrooms, the renovation work is amazing, awesome decoration full of personnal items from all the trips Aurelie and Mathias had, the kitchen is fully equiped, the living space, terrasse and surrounding nature are perfect for spending time toguether but also finding space on your own.
Umbria is one of the most beautiful places I have seen. There are multiple things to do there, from discovering and enjoying the river down the house (and children as well as grow up had a lot of fun there), the little villages all around with their markets and cafes, to the magnificent countryside and towns. We only went to Assisi as we spent a lot of time in the house, but that was wonderful.
Aurélie and Mathias are really nice, helpful and willing to give their best for a great stay, which they achieve.

“You will leave a piece of your heart here”
Reviewed 26 September 2013 for a stay in May 2013

This beautiful vacation rental is warm and inviting. Overlooking a canyon and perched above a river, this home never disappoints whether it's a breathtaking sunset or the sound of the church bells pealing from the ancient village not far away. It provides the opportunity to visit dozens of sites and yet return each night to your own Italian retreat. We left a part of our hearts there.
