We enjoyed our short stay at Casale deal Monsignore whilst exploring the southern reaches of Umbria. It is quite off the beaten track but that affords one the opportunity to venture into the countryside and find real peace and quiet. It's in a tiny hamlet called Uncinano, and googlemaps finds it no problem. The Casale is a well appointed country house with trees all around, it's furnished with beautiful antiques and paintings and as always in Italy when in someone's home, spotlessly clean. It has a lounge to relax in and very good wifi available everywhere. We had a comfortable room with its own external bathroom. Both spacious and we still had privacy despite the bathroom outside of the room. Roberto is a very caring host who goes out of his way to please his guests. He offered us the use of a kitchen on the evening we didn't feel like eating out. Breakfast is served in the lower room but I think it would be nicer if it was around the lovely kitchen table upstairs. The kitchen we used was so beautiful and more inviting for breakfast. Breakfast is adequate and I enjoyed the homebaked cakes and good prosciutto.
