The accommodations at this enchanting Agriturismo are unpretentious and charming, if you aren’t expecting sterile, 5 star hotel decor. The proprietors are warm and accommodating, offering both an abundant, authentic breakfast and great advice for experiencing the best of Florence and beyond.

Spent two nights at Agriturismo Le Macine (The Millstones) with a group of 14 people from the US. We were traveling the Abbruzo area and this wonderful little gem was our base for our exploration of the southern and coastal areas of the region. It is a quaint country style hotel on a hill overlooking a valley of farm fields and the Adriatic Sea. Le Macine is an actual working farm therefore the agriturismo moniker. The rooms were simple but roomy and comfortable with a typical euro style bathroom. The staff was wonderful and went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. Continental style breakfast met us in the morning with cured meats, freshly baked breads and pastries, eggs and coffee. The homemade citrus and fig jams were excellent. The last night of our stay we enjoyed a light dinner which included a plate of meats and baked breads along with a dessert of fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Very fresh. Wine? Excellent. I would highly recommend Le Macine for a romantic couple's getaway or a family trip.

I recently stayed at the Agriturismo le Macine, infact I had my wedding there. It was the best three days of life. The place is so beautiful, the food was amazing and it really is a unique experience away from the rest of the world. The owners and staff could not have been more helpful. We have had so much great feedback from our wedding guests also about how much they enjoyed the place. I would defiantly recommend a visit it really is magical!!

September 15
Scenery and surroundings perfect, very simple hotel, rooms ok without tv,nor blanket nor decent towels or bathroom accessories
...all needed to be required.
food: good quality but small quantity and high prices compared to Italian standards. Average Italian breakfast, not much choice but homemade cake and biscuits
Personal: friendly but young owner more interested in business than quality service
We were a large group of friends (a majority of Italian people who found the place beautiful but would not totally recommend this place,)

We spent 10 days at Le Macine, and it was just amazing. The place is speechless, imagine a hidden jewel on the hill, surrounded by olive trees and palms, with an astonishing sea view. The country house is furnitured with good taste, comfortable and elegant. And what about the homemade food...Just delicious. Wine connoisseurs will also be pleased. You enjoy all of this delights on a relaxing terrace, next to fig trees.

People working there are sweet and always ready to help you. Don't hesitate to ask them for trip advices, they can recommend you the best places and things to do in Abruzzo (islands, mountain trekking, historic or gastronomic trip, etc.). And when you come back from one of this trip, they always ask you how it was.

So, if you want to be filled with wonder, just go there.
