The first time I went was with the crew from work. I had crab cakes and French onion soup— sublime! The second time I took my husband and again the food was excellent! I need a special occasion to surprise him with a third visit. It’s definitely worth the drive and price you pay!
Good food but service was poor. Food was delayed, server was more interested in her phone than her customers.
Whether lunch or dinner, every visit to Ray's restaurant has been a memorable experience. From dinners for 4 or 12 at the holidays, the food is interesting and varied, beautifully served by staff that are professional and welcoming.
So my friends invited me to Rays 3rd Generation Bistro Bakery in Alton for my birthday. I hd this pre-conceived notion that we were going for coffee and dessert...when we got there, as soon as you walk into the place, it had amazing smell of delicious food...they bring you over a blackboard with the menu and the selection of food was huge...all the food everyone selected was over the top delicious...i had the lamb, so tender, so delicious...everyone else raved about the food...Pamela and her staff provided excellent service...a little gem everyone should try...
