I booked this hotel as the leader of a group trip, with our group booking 10 rooms. I had a single room on the non-road side of the hotel. The first thing I noticed is the hotel is very nice looking--but this hid it's great flaw.
My room was very hot when I got in the room, so I opened the window. I was immediately hit with the stench of fried foods. It turns out that the restaurant attached to the hotel vents its frier right in front of all the back rooms. No problem, I thought. I would keep the window closed and use the AC. It didn't work. When I spoke to the front desk, I was told they didn't turn them on until later in the season. I asked to switch rooms, and they gave me a room on the same side of the hotel as the room I have, and that room had the same exact problem. They wouldn't make any other accommodation because the hotel was full.
So here's what I'm stuck with: a room that's too hot to sleep in, that if I open the window it reeks of fried food, and if I keep the window closed I sweat so much I can't sleep.
Despite its look and proximity to the railroad station, the stench of fried food is the fatal flaw of this hotel. If you book here, you are making a gamble: will you get a street side room and be able to open your window? Or will you get a backside room and be stuck with an unusable room?
My answer is don't bother to find out: avoid this hotel at all costs. Even a hotel that looks worse is better than one that doesn't accomplish the one goal of a hotel, providing you a comfortable night's sleep.
