“The most magical place we've ever stayed.”
Reviewed 30 July 2018 for a stay in June 2018

We planned our Italy vacation for many months. We were fortunate when we picked Francispaul’s Little Castle of the Moors in Minori, Italy. Francispaul is an excellent host who goes above and beyond expectations. He was wonderful in assisting us to plan for our trip and provided guidance on everything from the shops and restaurants in the village to hiring a car and driver for our excursion to Pompeii. His home is gorgeous with incredible views overlooking the sea. We were there in mid-late June 2018 and the bougainvillea was in spectacular full bloom. There is access to the sea down some stairs, and Minori is a short walk away. Be advised the trip back is uphill but not overly stressful. Minori has the additional attraction of not being overrun by tourists even in the great weather. The restaurants in the village were very good and we walked to them. We also ate in two nights. For the first night, we barbequed a nice steak bought at the butcher shop and for the second night we purchased roasted chicken and potatoes at the same shop.

The amenities were great—we were quite content to hang around in the sun pool/side and just relax. We were a total of four adults, but the house can easily accommodate an additional couple or another couple with 2 children.

All told, it was a great house in a wonderful location that really allowed us all to recharge. Many thanks to Francispaul. Go! You will not be disappointed.

We loved our 10 days at Francescopaolo's small castle on the moors. We visited all the other Amalfi coast towns and could not wait ro return to our special home away from home. We still talk about our time there and our love for this precious place. Also we have to thank Francescopaolo for all his help - nothing was a problem. We hope to visit our favorite place again and will never forget our time there.

“The most beautiful place in the world”
Reviewed 26 November 2017 for a stay in October 2017

One month on from returning home from this trip, I am still yearning for it!
Francescopaulo's house is a stunning place to enjoy this most exquisite part of the Amalfi coast. The house itself sits nestled in the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean, with the charming town of Minori to the left. You could spend the whole holiday basking in the sun in the gorgeous garden area, with an uninterrupted view of the sea.
Inside the house is traditionally decorated, and the comfortable lounge is great for when evenings get chilly. The sleeping accommodation is perfect....enough space for 6 people, I would say. Check it out, folks. You won't be disappointed!

“Superb apartment in a great locaton”
Reviewed 1 October 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We came in September for a family wedding. Five of us stayed in the apartment and there was plenty of space. The terrace is fantastic with panoramic views up and down the coast. The pool is small but very handy on hot days. Our host was very attentive and an eager guide. He even took us food shopping on our first day as we didn't have a car. We would definitely come again.

Thanks for the nice review. You're perfectly right, my is not a big pool. It's a little over six feet long and definitely not enough for a swim but it is born to cool off, to converse sitting in the water and enjoy the whirlpool while drinking a good iced drink. But on the other hand, just take a few stairs and from the terrace you will access directly to the beach deck. And there you can swim long and wide. I hope to see you again . From next year I will also manage another home in the same building. Its name is "The small castle of the Moors II °", has 6 beds and is much larger as a dwelling, even if it has a smaller terrace. So you can decide to come with some relative or family of friends. Thank you . Best regards . Francescopaolo

“Top spot with pool on the Amalfi Coast”
Reviewed 24 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

The Little Castle of the Moors has the most stunning view from the huge terrace, overlooking the sea and along the coast to Maiori and beyond. The pool, although not huge, is great to cool off in. There are plenty of loungers and outdoor seats provided, plus a huge outdoor umbrella if the sun gets too hot for you!
The bedrooms are all air-conditioned and were perfect for our group of 5. The outdoor shower is the best of the 3 showers. Small adequate bathrooms.
The kitchen is indeed tiny, only one person at a time, but that's all you need as you'll spend little time in there, and the patio table and chairs provide an awesome spot for outdoor dining (barbeque is provided).
The living space is light, open and really comfortable.

Minori is only 5 minutes walk down some steps and there are plenty of dining options there. A reminder that, as in most Italian towns, shops are closed from 1.30pm-4.30ish, but restaurants remain open.

Francescopaolo is an amazing host. He organised the airport pickups, took us grocery shopping when we arrived, sorted the barbeque gas bottle after hours, gave any info requested, sorted rides to Pompei and was generally available for any questions we had. I can't recommend him highly enough as a host. Just simply AWESOME.

This place is amazing and I would totally recommend it to anyone wanting a spectacular view, pool, friendly atmosphere, all in a quieter area than the main tourist spots on the Amalfi Coast. The ferry runs often to most towns along the coast so it doesn't take long to get to those touristy spots if you wish to, and then come home to serenity.

Thank you Kim for your review. You have a good taste of the kitchen is a bit small even if equipped with all the comforts, but I remember it is a historic house and has a constraint imposed by the ministry and the sovereignty of cultural goods. So nothing was possible to modify anything and the architect was able to surprise me with the spaces he created. Fortunately, it is very airy with a direct view of the sea and a side glass door through which you access directly on the large terrace. I have another real estate unit in the same building called "The small castle of the Moors II". Here you can find a very wide kitchen, fully habitable, always full of light and with fabulous direct sea view. The whole house here is larger and spacious, but has a smaller garden. I hope for a day to meet you again. A hug to all of you . Francescopaolo
