We discovered this place after a couple of days of very mediocre overpriced restaurant food. We ate like kings on the balcony of our hotel. Olives and artichoke hearts, meatballs, risotto, roast meat, fantastic vegetables, great wine. All for only €25 euro. We two bought enough for 4 people! In a restaurant you would not have paid under €120 minimum for food a good as this. Highly recommend.

Fabulous mini market in main location, excellent fresh made panini which are very filling with freshly sliced prosciutto, and the tastiest tomatoes & freshest mozzarella. Mouth watering & a cheap way to eat when you don't feel like restaurant meals etc. We went there a number of times during our 4 day stay in Positano & raved about it. Grab a few cold beers or a bottle of local wine while your there - Bargain !

My wife and I took a cooking class with master chef Mario on September 5, 2013. This young man was truly remarkable with what he cooked. Truly amazing and My wife and I have made quite a few dishes he taught us since coming home. He has a true passion for Italian cooking. Dan and Lorrie Cortigiano Derby, Connecticut USA

Been travelling Europe for a while and sick and tired of paying too much for very touristy overpriced places no matter how hard we've tried to find otherwise. Stumbled upon Delikatessen looking for water and for every meal now have ONLY eaten there. The food is ridiculously good and authentic. Might look average but is packed with flavour which no other restaurant in Positano seems to manage. Even though the pasta is reheated (depends what time you get there) and packed nicely with plastic cutlery, it still beats Da Vincenzo, Buca di Baco etc. by a loooong shot.
Bought a bottle of white, wanted a bag of ice, lady said they didn't have any but to our surprise on paying for our shopping, a young boy delivered us a bag of ice!!!! Shop owner went above and beyond without our knowledge to give us what we needed. Best service in Italy so far.
With the sandwiches, it might look like there's nothing there but if you see the bread rolls, point one out and point anything out in the deli to have filled in the sandwich/roll. You will need to ask for the prosciutto/ham and cheese as these generally aren't on display. Meatballs with mozzarella a recommendation!
Had pretty much every pasta there was and none failed to impress.
Get your respite from rip offs, cover charges, bread baskets and overpriced average food and grab and go from here.
Great wine too...
FYI- big serve of great pasta roughly €3.50. Not joking.

we stayed at a villa a kilometer from town, so we shopped at the deli for fruit and fresh items and bread which they delivered to us when we got home. Two nights we had them make trays of gnocchi, lasagna, and macaroni with meatballs and they delivered that hot for us for dinner. The lasagna was the best I've had in my life. We fed 12 pasta eaters for 45 euros. We ate on our deck overlooking Positano's coast, what a memory.
