We have just returned from our wonderful 50th Anniversary vacation in beautiful Orvieto.
Staying in this beautiful and convenient apartment with a view of the Duomo added to the enjoyment of our stay. Daniela and her family were so helpful and accommodating. After a long flight from Philadelphia, a train ride from Rome and bus from the train station Daniela greeted us with fresh antipasto, pastry, vegetables, coffee, tea, milk and fresh flowers. No need for us to go to the market our first day. The 2 bedroom apartment was sparkling clean
and offered us everything we needed to enjoy our 3 week stay.
Orvieto was the perfect place for us as we enjoyed walking and exploring all the sights and the fantastic restaurants and shops. Daniela continued to supply us with homemade pastries and vegetables from her garden throughout our stay even homemade pasta. I was afraid we were going to have to request seat belt extensions for our flight home. LOL
Such a wonderful city. The people of Orvieto are strong and proud...and welcoming.
This is a VERY nice place to stay in Orvieto. As we were saying good-by to Daniela, our hostess, she said it makes her feel good to know people have enjoyed her hospitality. What a hostess she is! Very well kept apartment, very clean. Enough food to get you started on your stay. Close to a grocery source. Daniela provided us with beautiful tasty treats.
I can't say enough good things....go to Orvieto, stay here and see for yourself!!

We had a wonderful stay here in Orvieto. Daniela and her family were wonderful and very helpful to us. The apartment is centrally located on a narrow alley about two blocks from the main street. It's very close to the action but in a very quiet location. The apartment was completely comfortable and spotlessly clean. I can't recommend Il gelsomino di Isia highly enough. We loved the town and the house, and we hope to return someday soon to enjoy both again!
our stay at Il Gelsomino di Isia was perfect. The house is located centrally, yet is quiet and offers beautiful views. From our windows we could see the bells of the Duomo, and also down into a garden.
Daniela and her family were very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure that everything ran smoothly.
Daniela is a gracious hostess and as my sister remarked- "Daniela has thought of everything needed by a traveler'. The home made cake as well as a beautiful cheese plate greeting our arrival were wonderful.
In particular I would like to thank Daniela for her assistance in introducing me to her niece, Serena P. (degreed in art history and museum sciences)who made time in her schedule to help me 'scrape off the barnacles' of my rusty italian. Our late afternoon informal conversation classes spent in various outdoor cafes chatting were just the perfect way to discuss the day's sightseeing activities and also offered a great entry into a part of life that few tourists get to experience.
