There's a bit of a debate going on in Italy as to what is the best steak you can eat. In Montepulciano there were several restaurants offering the famous Chianina T-bone alla Fiorentina. You buy according to 3-5 Euros per 100g. If you ask for medium, the searing heat will not quite penetrate to the centre, which will be quite rare. Dry-aging means it won't be bloody though. L'Altro Cantuccio served it on a heated tray for which I was grateful, as it took some time to get through. It was faultless, as was the attentive but not fussy service. We couldn't get into another overbooked, high-end place that night, but were delighted at every aspect of our evening.
