The staff was very helpful, cordial, and professional. I was there on business but the hotel and the piazza where it is located gave me an immediate feeling of being in Italy. Mestre is a sleepy town with not much to do except eat exquisite Italian food, sip an espresso and enjoy life. Its also quite close to the tram which can take you to Venice.

Room Tip: I stayed in two rooms on separate occasions, both facing the alley to the side. Both were fine.

Hotel Al Vivit is the perfect place to stay when visiting Venice. It is an easy tram ride into the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel staff is very kind and accommodating. Breakfast is fantastic, complete with honey draining from the comb. The rooms could use an update but are kept very clean. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay and I would highly recommend.

Mestre is absolutely perfect solution if you want to visit Venice, it is just 10 minutes ride by tram far from Venice, and gives you peace if you compare it with overcrowded Venice. From the other side, it has 4-5 times cheaper accommodation and food options as well. Mestre as itself is beautiful historical city, so it is great intro to Venice and its gorgeous history.

Hotel Vivit has perfect location on the main square in Mestre, in old historical building with renovated apartments - very spacious and well decorated. Family room was big enough for us (family with 2 kids). Staff is super helpful, from basic travel assistance till any other request you might have.

You can buy tickets for tram to Venice at the reception, it costs 3 EUR (2 ways ticket). Kids under 6yo do not need tickets. Tram stop is just 3-4 minutes far from the hotel.

Hotel has parking place close near the supermarket "Simply", it is just few minutes far from the hotel by foot and it is much appreciated.
Breakfast is little basic but was in general fine with us, our kids loved sweet options.

Room Tip: Family rooms are good choice

We stayed in the hotel two night in the middle of February 2018.

The hotel located absolut in the heart of Mestre but it is not just adventage.
Because the parking place of the hotel is cca 8-10 minutes walking and if you have heavy lugagge it can be difficult . (When we left the hotel there was a big rain .....)
Our room was the Nr214 and there was the heatyng system very noisy and switched on and off in every half hours.
There was also very noisy the bell of the nearly church which made the weak up in the morning at 7:30 both days.
But the location is good because evyrithing is near . (tram station, shops, market ....)
The staff was helpful mainly the reception men with beard.
The breakfast was a big disappointment for us !The breakfast time is untill 10 o'clock and we arrived to restaurant at 09:15 but the buffet table was almost empty both days and that was loaded only after our reclamations .
I don't know why we have to ask it if it is in the price which is not so cheap .
